| findable_steps | I accessed the City Hall of Uberlândia official website, looked for the Secretariat of Education, and immediately found the subsection: Relação das Unidades Escolas. Aiming to find the number of students, I googled “número de alunos uberlandia mg” and I could find the information at the first link appeared, also at the City Hall of Uberlândia official website. However, the Uberlandia Municipal School Net does not contain high schools. Therefore, the schools relation section at the City Hall of Uberlândia official website does not include the high schools on its lists. Therefore, searching at the Minas Gerais State Secretariat of Education official website was necessary. So, I googled “secretaria de estado de minas gerais relaçao de escolas de ensino medio Uberlândia. At the first link showed, we could find a consolidated list of all schools, public and private; municipal, federal and state; for all the school modalities; and their related information, such as address/location. At the section: services, subsection: educação em numeros, we could find the number of students and other related information until the year of 2016. But, the information consider the whole state of MG and does not specify the data for Uberlandia. Further, we could find the number of students for all schools at the municipality of Uberlandia for the year of 2015. However, it does not specify the number of students per school. I tried, several times, to contact the SRE Uberlândia and the MG Superintendência de Informações Educacionais by phone in order to request where we could find this information, but there was no answer. I also tried to access the Educacenso, aiming to find this information there. However, I did not have the permission, even after trying to request a log in. (https://censobasico.inep.gov.br/censobasico/#/). Considering that the information provided by the Minas Gerais State Secretariat of Education is the Educacenso information and that it does not contain the number of students per school, I cannot affirm that even after having this permission, this information is provided in there. Finally, I tried to download the Educasenso microdata from INEP website (https://portal.inep.gov.br/web/guest/microdados). I was very difficult to download it once it is very heavy. Later, I could not see the information because it was necessary to have a software. I could download the software for free at government websites. However, I could not see the data using this software even after following the instructions from 2016 Censo file. | |
